Tigers baseball edges Gauchos

The Riverside College baseball team was the host to visiting Saddleback College last Saturday. The Tigers scored the go-ahead runs in the bottom of the eighth inning in a tie-game to take the lead, and the final victory, 3-1.

Saddleback pitcher James Condon had a solid outing, giving up only one run on five hits and striking out three in five innings pitched. The Gauchos scored their only run on a sacrifice fly by Max Burnett, which brought Chad Richardson in to score.

Mike Cole also had two hits.

The loss for the Gauchos drops their record to 22-19 overall, 8-10 in Orange Empire Conference play. The Gauchos will play Fullerton on the road, Thursday and at home, Friday. Both games are at 2:30 p.m.
