Taylor’s Take
In the last regular season game of the year, with the National Division title on the line between the top two teams in the division, made for two formidable foes going at it for the title. Saddleback’s furious rally in the 4th quarter fell short to the Mounties, 41-28.
This was a battle between two great offenses and both defenses turned it into a game in which whoever got the most defensive stops would win.
Mt. SAC was the team to get the most out of their defense and the Gauchos could not quite muster up enough on either side of the ball.
Both teams played pretty well, mainly on defense, but the Mounties just had a few more big plays and certainly more stops on defense. The Mounties biggest play of the game was a blocked punt recovered in the end zone for a touchdown!
I know that Saddleback clinched a playoff spot last week and I believe they are deserving of a home bowl game in the 1st round of the playoffs. No matter what, I cannot wait for next week and I sure hope the whole team will be ready for the new season!
