Saddleback instructor to show with international painters
INSTRUCTING IN OIL PAINTING (Anibal Santos)
Saddleback College painting instructor Vito-Leonardo Scarola will exhibit his paintings this Thursday night in Cypress College’s art gallery.
Lenny’s paintings will be part of The Figure in Contemporary Art exhibition. The theme involves a figure painted by observation.
Scarola will show his current work along with other international contemporary painters: Odd Nerdrum, Domenic Cretara, Sharon Allicotti, Julliette Aristides among many others.
Thomas Butler, the curator, writes, “Unfortunately, the opportunity for today’s art students in Southern California to be exposed to this type of work is very rare. This exhibition aims to remedy this predicament.”
The reception for the exhibition will be held at Cypress College’s Art Gallery this Thursday 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. The show will run from Sept. 20 through Nov. 1.
