Lasers Grubbs and Slaughter continue on to Division 1 play

Two freshmen of the 2007 state champion Irvine Valley men’s volleyball team will continue their athletic careers at the Division I level.
Libero Sean Grubbs, who led the team in digs in 15 of its 19 matches, has committed to No. 2 Pepperdine University, which reached the NCAA Semifinal in the 2007 season. Grubbs played in all 79 games of the season, averaging 2.54 digs and finishing second on the team with 28 aces.
Redshirt middle blocker Ted Slaughter will be joining the ranks of University of California, Los Angeles, which finished last season with a record of 19-11. In 75 games played, Slaughter averaged 2.31 kills and 1.23 blocks and hit .335.
