Laser’s aim at Hawks, mark bull’s-eye for victory

Irvine Valley Men’s soccer defeated Santiago Canyon 4-1 in last Fridays match.

The four goals matched IVC’s season high for most goals.

The Lasers are now 4-5-2 overall and 2-2-0 in conference. IVC scored two goals in the first half.

First goal came during the last 18 minutes of the first half by sophomore forward Bruno Sad.

After freshman Reza Nourani’s shot was saved by Santiago’s goalie Alan Orriny, Laser’s freshman Allen Villa took control of the ball. Villa passed the ball to sophomore mid fielder Roberto Linck who then kicked to the left side of the net and scored IVC’s second goal of the game.

After only four minutes into the second half, IVC’s lead was cut in half.

Sophomore goalie Mikhail Radchuk was unable to block the kick sent by Santiago’s freshman forward Peter Davis.

Sad retrieved the ball for the Lasers and passed to freshman mid fielder Ghilerme Oliveira.

Oliveira’s shot bounced off the crossbar and into the net for IVC’s third goal.

To finish the up the goals, freshman mid fielder Bryan Castillo passed a shot to fellow teammate freshman Anthony Muniz who scored for IVC’s fourth goal of the game.

The Lasers will host Santa Ana on Friday at 1 p.m.

Then the team will travel to Riverside Tuesday.

Kick off is set for 3 p.m.
