Knights slice their way through Gauchos’ lasso

Gaucho women’s volleyball failed to win to a match last week at home. Saddleback never gave up against Palomar Wednesday Sept. 24.

The Gauchos lost 3-1 ( 27-25, 25-21, 16-25, 25-20).

Both teams played with intensity and kept up the rally.

Palomar had to work hard to earn the win.

Freshman outside hitter Alicia Dishno from Capistrano Valley High school finished the game with 17 kills, the most for Saddleback.

Sophomore Amber Richter from Capistrano Valley High School served up four aces.

Freshman Courtney Farrow from Capistrano Valley High School finished with four served up aces as well.

The Saddleback women’s volleyball finished the non-conference games Friday at home against the San Diego City Knights.

The Gaucho women finished with an unfortunate sweep as the Knights won 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-15).

Sophomore Amber Richter helped with 15 assists, ten of which went to Alicia Dishno and Ashleigh Cottrell.

The Gauchos look to improve in conference play.

The Gauchos have young talent mixing with a few veterans.

The Gauchos can be a force to rival IVC this upcoming season.

The Gauchos volleyball didn’t end the non-conference games in a comfortable position.

The team is 2-5 before beginning the season.

Orange Empire Conference play will begin Friday October 3 against Cypress College at home.

The Chargers are first in the standings thus far with a 5-1 record. Game time is at 6 p.m.
