Fuentes Projected to Win Area 6

Votes continue to pour in tonight, as the race for Trustee area six winds down. With half of the precincts reporting as of 12:30 a.m., it appears that Trustee Thomas A. Fuentes will win his third consecutive election as Clerk of the Board. Fuentes ‘s opponent, Bob Bliss, trails him by 14 percent. Fuentes has served on the board since 2000.
Fuentes was appointed in 2006 to serve as House Speaker Dennis Hastert’s designee on the Board of Advisors of the United States Elections Assistance Commission in Washington, D.C.. Fuentes oversees the expenditure of Help America Vote Act (HAVA) funds across the nation. Fuentes was reappointed for a third term earlier this year.
Fuentes lives with his wife, Jolene, in Lake Forest.
