Enrollment numbers rise across district
Students that have driven to campus within the last two weeks have most likely had an issue with parking. They were not alone.
Though the numbers have not yet been verified by the census, analysis of the current enrollment records show that both Irvine Valley and Saddleback colleges have experienced substantial growth in student population this semester, compared to fall 2007.
As of Sept. 3, Saddleback had a total of 25,009 students enrolled, up 8 percent from last year’s numbers at 23,120. At IVC, the student body totaled 14,089, up 10 percent from 12,760. Since Aug. 28, Saddleback has been gaining an average 141 students per day. Similarly, IVC has gained an average of 67 students, nearly-one half of a percent every day.
Confirmed census analysis is expected within the next few weeks.
