DeVore holds lead in State Assembly race in 70th District
With 22.1% of the results coming from absentee voters and those who used the early in-person voting option, here are the current standings as of 9:20 p.m.
Republican incumbent Chuck DeVore leads with 39,342 votes, or 58.6% of the tally.
DeVore represents California’s 70th Assembly District, an area that includes about 450,000 people in the Orange County communities of Aliso Viejo, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Newport Beach, and Tustin. His legislative committee assignments are: Vice Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Revenue and Taxation, Veterans Affairs, and, Budget. He also serves as a Republican Whip. He was elected in 2004 and reelected in 2006.
