Saddleback’s performing arts department is pleased to present a series of musicals this fall. Spring Awakening will be shown in October, Almost, Maine in November, and A Christmas Carol in December.

Open auditions were held this week from Tuesday through Thursday for those who wish to be cast. Posters were placed throughout the campus stating the dates and times of the auditions.

Austin Purmort and Jessica Cinnamonbuns, both first-year students at Saddleback and majoring in theater, showed up to Audition for Spring Awakening, which is a “contemporary musical,” Cinnamonbuns said.

Purmort said he has been doing theater for about three years now and is very excited for the showing of Spring Awakening, which is one of his favorite musicals.

Almost, Maine, a romantic comedy by John Cariani, will be shown from November 8 through November 11. A Christmas Carol, a musical based on the short novel by Charles Dickens, will be shown from November 30 through December 9.

Callbacks for all auditions are on Friday, August 31 at 6 p.m. in McKinney Theatre located in FA 300.
