MaryAnne Curry Shults
I’m a re-entry student pursuing my master’s degree in Communications/New Media. This is my second semester on the Lariat staff.
I have to say that I think I’ve received an excellent backbone to my educational pursuits at Saddleback College. One can’t beat the price for attending a California community college; just take a moment to compare what students in other states are paying per credit hour. I’ve had some of the best instructors, both full- and part-time. They teach with passion and enthusiasm, and smaller classes allow a more personal interaction.
I will be sad to leave when I officially matriculate in May 2009. I hope to come back and teach here one day.
I’m currently a student at California State University, Fullerton.
I live in Mission Viejo with my husband, John, and my two children, Brianna and Kenny. I’m part owner of Shults Dot Com, a web development and hosting company established in 1996. I’m also on the executive board of the Fourth District PTA of the California State PTA.
Though balancing the roles of student, volunteer, business owner, wife and mother have proven, at times, to be overwhelming, I’ve managed to have the chance to return to college and had that thought of “I wish I knew then what I know now” come true. With everything in my life, I am extremely proud to say that I’ve maintained a 3.5+ GPA.
