Coach Jennifer Higginson led the Gauchos into their 18th Annual Women’s Water Polo Invitational tournament this past Friday and Saturday. Over the two day, four game span, the Women’s Water Polo team posted a 1-3 record to start off their season.

The first day of competition began on a rough note as the Gauchos fell to Ventura in a 16-6 loss and 18-3 to Palomar later that day.

Despite a slow start on Saturday, losing 14-8 to Pasadena, the team was able to round-up the tournament with a 16-9 win over Southwestern in a game that was dominated by the Gauchos much more than the score suggests.

The team’s next home game will be held on September 19th in the Saddleback College Aquatics Center where the Gauchos will be taking on Cypress at 4:00 p.m. This will be their last game before they head up to the Mt. SAC Invitational tournament the 21-22 of September.
