Gauchos knocked aside by Chargers

A 2-0 loss against Cypress on Friday afternoon left Saddleback at a loss, but with the satisfaction of having put in a solid effort.

Both of the goals by Cypress were scored by Jacqueline Lara, one in each half. The second goal was made 20 minutes after intermission. One of Lara’s teammates nearly made a shot but the ball bounced off the right post, which allowed Lara to score.

The Gauchos also drew a penalty kick at the 76-minute mark, but the kick went right outside of the right post and Cypress was able to finish the game with a shutout.

Saddleback’s current record is 9-7-1.
