Ending it in style
The Saddleback men’s basketball team has had an astonishing season this year. Finishing 25-4 overall and being undefeated in conference play (12-0), they really showed that they are the kings of the Orange Empire. ending the regular season with an 86-58 beat down on Santa Ana City College.
The star of the game was 6’4 guard, Darnell Taylor. Taylor scored 21 points during the duration of game with 17 coming in the last 20 minutes of play. He also snagged 10 rebounds to complete a double double, he threw in three assist for the cherry on top. His team leading performance solidified a 15 game win streak to end the season just as planed.
Helping with the one sided defeat was forward Carlton Hayes, he scored 12 points with five rebounds.
With a five point lead at the half, they came back to the court and just took control. With Saddleback scoring 51 points to Santa Ana’s 28, it was obvious why the Gauchos haven’t lost in 15 games. They really know how to turn it on when needed.
Being the likely #1 seed for the southern California playoffs, they will try to continue with their win streak.
