Kory Johnson
In a defensively sparked win over Golden West in football, Johnson led the way. Johnson led the Gauchos in tackles with ten and added a sack and an interception.
The sophomore gets his athleticism from both sides of the family. His father once played with the NFL’s New York Jets, and his mother was a state champion in the heptathalon at Mt. San Antonio College.
Arabia Ruiz
On September 4, freshman forward Arabia Ruiz made history for the IVC women’s soccer team. Century High School in Santa Ana, scored three goals for the first hat trick for the Lasers since the reinstatement of the IVC soccer program in 2004. The three goals were also the most goals scored in a game for IVC since September 9, 2006 against Golden West College.
