LAUREN MOLINA
Saddleback College Softball (Pitcher)
The sophomore pitcher ended her regular season with a record of 17-6, and had a 1.85 earned run average. She struck out 144 opposing batters in 155 innings pitched. She also earned both wins in Saddleback’s first round sweep of College of the Canyons this past weekend. She was also stellar at the plate with .356 batting average, with three homeruns and 27 runs batted in. She also had 11 doubles on the season. In 118 she only struck out once. She was also named First Team All-Orange Empire Conference. The Gauchos are 29-12, and are awaiting word of their next round opponent. Molina will transfer to the University of California at Riverside where she will play softball for the Highlanders.
KEVIN MENNER
Saddleback College Basketball (Guard)
The power forward transfer from Ventura College made his presence known in the paint this season. Menner finished the season averaging 19.3 points per game and had seven rebounds a game. He made the all tournament team in the California Community College Athletic Association Finals in Fresno. Menner single-handedly dominated the paint, sometimes scoring with three or four defenders around him. Menner has not decided on his future as of yet, but has spoken with Cal State Northridge, Hawaii and University of California at Riverside about continuing his basketball career.
