Saddleback College and Authorities to hold Safety Drill
The Saddleback College Police Department, along with the Orange County Police and Fire Departments, will be holding an active shooter exercise drill on campus on Tuesday, March 25.
The drill “will simulate a multi-discipline, multi-jurisdiction, multi-agency response to an active shooter,” according to an email sent out by Saddleback Director of Marketing and Communications Jennie McCue.
Over 40 volunteers will simulate bystanders, wounded students and other roles as the exercise seeks to “establish a learning environment for participants to execute response plans, policies, and procedures… [when] responding to an active shooter incident.” The Student Health Center will also be set up as a Triage Area during the event.
The exercise will last most of day, with two half-day exercises taking place.
