New LRC online workshop program to begin tomorrow
Saddleback College is offering an online alternative to learn about plagiarism.
PILOT Project: Do It Yourself – Avoiding Plagiarism is a new LRC online workshop that will allow students to learn about plagiarism. The pilot is set to run three times Wednesday March 13, 8-9 p.m., Tuesday April 9, 8-9 p.m., and Thursday May 2, 8-9 p.m.
” The program is 1-hour long and has 3 parts. You listen in the beginning, then they ask you some questions, and there is a brief assignment at the end.” said April Cunningham, library instruction coordinator.
Students can log into BlackBoard and self-enroll. This program is being recommended by instructors, and some are assigning it as classwork or extra credit. Any student may enroll.
“If (the student) feels they need extra practice they can enroll themselves,” Cunningham said. ” We hope for it to come back. We have to see how much people like it, and how many students were getting.”
