Marine veteran, Quinlan Rakin is running for South Orange County Community College District Board of Trustee in California’s General Election

 

Quinlan Rakin is the Republican Candidate for Board of Trustee in Trustee Area 4 in South Orange County Community College District in this year’s election. He is running against Democratic incumbent opponent Nancy Padberg. Through a phone interview with the Lariat News, Rakin a Marine veteran stated his guiding principles that he will bring to his position if elected. Rakin said he plans on bringing the mission orientated experience he learned as a United States Marine to reach his objectives. He said the student should be the priority of the college. If elected he plans on addressing three main concerns in the district. One is revenue, he addresses that the state of California is the taking too much local tax revenue from the the schools. The second concern he would address is the misalignment between the business and education. He said he would work with the colleges to partner students with industries to prepare students with work experience and get them ready for the global market. The other concern he would address as a Board of Trustee is the misalignment of compensation between Administrators and the college’s full-time and part-time faculty as well as staff. These concerns are what Rakin would like to bring to attention. California’s General Election is Tuesday, Nov.4.

Quinlan Rakin is the Republican Candidate for Board of Trustee in Trustee Area 4 in South Orange County Community College District in this year’s election. He is running against Vice President Board of Trustee Nancy M. Padberg.

Through a phone interview with the Lariat News, Rakin a Marine veteran stated his guiding principles that he will bring to his position if elected.
