IGETC changes: 62 courses will no longer be offered at Saddleback

Sixty-two classes on the current Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) will no longer be offered at Saddleback College.

A provision on the current 2011-2012 IGETC program includes 62 underlined classes from areas two through six. The underlined classes will no longer be offered at Saddleback as of fall 2013.

Three math classes, 30 arts and humanities classes, 13 social and behavioral sciences, 7 physical and biological sciences and 9 language classes, other than English, will no longer be offered on campus.

According to ASSIST.org, the IGETC is a program for California Community College students interested in transferring to California State Universities or Universities of California.

The curriculum is a program, that transfer students can use to fulfill lower-division general education requirements.

It requires students to complete 37 semester units and 49 quarter units with a C grade or higher in each course.
