Four kidnapping attempts made on Aliso Creek Trail

Sources: Orange County Sheriff’s Department

A total of four possible kidnapping attempts have been made along the Aliso Creek Hiking Trail from Sept. 12 to Sept. 24, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. The victims were all female, ranging from 11 years old to 28. Investigators are currently trying to determine if the incidents are connected, as each of the attackers differed in physical descriptions. Two were described as short, heavy set Hispanic men, one was a Caucasian with medium length brown hair and the four attacker was described as a Cacasian male with short blond hair.

This trail is especially sucueptible to attacks as it is surrounded by wooded areas that are easy to hide in and connects with a softball field, skate park and numerous schools. These factors together leave people, especially children, vulnerable when walking to or from one of these activities.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance to identify these men as soon as possible. There have been no more known incidents since Sept. 24, possibly due to the increased media coverage. One man has been arrested in relation to the crimes but the investigation is still ongoing to determine whether he is working with others.
