Only a stone’s throw away from Saddleback College, four men allegedly forced into a resident’s home on Thursday night.

The suspects arrived at the Promenade Apartments in the 28000 block of Marguerite Parkway to collect a drug related debt, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department was called at 10:08 p.m. No one at the residence was seriously harmed.

It appears that the victims may have known at least two of the suspects.

“The men took $2,000 worth of property and cash from the residence,” said OCSD spokesman Jim Amormino.  The four suspects then left the residence, fleeing to Irvine, where they attempted to collect a second debt.

The second collection was unsuccessful, however, the men did commit a battery. The victim’s name was not released.

From Irvine, the suspects fled north, to Tustin, where Tustin Police were able to identify the suspect’s vehicle. All four suspects were arrested together.

Saddleback Chief of Police Harry Parmer said that there is “no immediate concern to the safety of Saddleback Students,” but that home invasion robberies are fairly common.
