Dig Pink for breast cancer awareness
Irvine Valley College is getting revved up for their third-annual Dig Pink breast cancer awareness fundraising event. The women’s volleyball team will be taking on Golden West, and there will be raffles, auctions and a pink t-shirt giveaway.
The special Orange Empire Conference match at IVC and will be held on Friday, Oct. 28. Admission will be $5 and it kicks off at 6 p.m.
Raising more than $3,000 the past two years, IVC is partnering with the Dig Pink Foundation, which uses volleyball at the collegiate level to boost public breast cancer awareness and proceeds go to medical research and organizations that support patients and their families.
Expected to challenge for the conference title, this years team is currently ranked 14th in the state.
The event helps spread community support and strives to serve breast cancer patients by making a difference in their lives.
