An exciting, new social network was developed to integrate the Associated Student Government with the students whose interests they represent. The Saddleback ASG Web site at www.saddlebackasg.ning.com is not only an outlet for information but also a catalyst for connecting like-minded individuals.

The Web site’s calendar makes it is easy to get involved with events within the college community. Its atmosphere is full of support and creativity as students post blogs, check for latest activities of other members, post photos, view videos from latest activities and engage in chat.

The Inter-Club Council met on Tuesday to discuss the success of previous events and the development of future plans. There was a clear consensus about the positive turnout at both the Presidents’ Cup and Club Rush. Especially since ICC’s determination and success acquired the $500 first prize for drawing in the largest crowd to the Gaucho’s winning basketball game.

Club Rush turned out to be a great experience for those who participated. Many students were pleased to find versatility among the clubs. In return, the clubs were exited to receive new members. The Wilderness Club walked away with the first place award in the booth decorating contest. The club’s faux tree and a huge tent decor fit the “I Have a Dream” theme perfectly for those dreaming of going camping.

The Gay-Straight Alliance received first place for having the most inspiring club message. They are screening “Angels in America” on Tuesday, Mar. 3, and Wednesday, Mar. 4, at 5 p.m. Mutual respect and strong partnership were the keys to making this event a success.

ICC is going green by converting required forms for club events from paper to electronic. They are now available online at www.saddleback.edu/asg/icc.html.

Find information, get your questions answered, and chat with other students about upcoming club events on the ASG Web site or stop by the Student Development Center.
