The biannual Plant Sale by the horticulture and landscape design department will take place on April 12 and 13 to raise funds for student scholarships.

The sale will begin at 9 a.m. and last until 5:30 p.m. on both days. It will be held at the greenhouse across from the Technology & Applied Science building and next to Parking Lot 14.

Many hanging baskets, seasonal colors, bowls, succulents, Madagascar palms, cannas, cacti, herbs and vegetables will be featured in the fundraiser, among other plant products.

The department urges customers to arrive early for the best selection as they will not take reservations or deposits.

Funds raised from the sale will be awarded to students at the end of the spring semester.

Last year, the sale generated $7500 in scholarship awards.

The horticulture and landscape design department was established in 1975 to offer academic classes in plant cultivation and landscape improvement to students interested in building a career, upgrading their skills, or has a personal interest in the subject.
