Pros and cons of Saddleback parking

Saddleback parking has been known to be packed and swarmed with cars through the school semesters. With the new Quad being placed next to the LRC, parking lot spots are now going to be even more of a struggle to obtain throughout the school year. With new construction around Saddleback, parking spots have been taken over with new construction for buildings and classrooms.

Students have explained their frustration and experience for parking throughout their college experience.

“Parking my first year was hectic and a lot of parking was taken,” said Saddleback student Drew Wade. “With traffic I had to park further away from my class, which made me late for class.”

“For my first year at Saddleback, parking hasn’t been as bad as I thought it was,” said Josiah Yovichin, a freshman Saddleback College student. “Parking this year has been easy since my classes are in the morning and I normally arrive around 7:45 a.m. to open the parking lot. This year parking has been easy peasy.”

“My worst parking experience was when I was pulling into a spot and someone jutted in front of me and stole my spot, I was furious enough to honk my horn,” said Josiah Yovichin.

With parking continuing to be a struggle for students this semester, there are a few different approaches students can take for parking this year. Showing up thirty minutes to an hour early for class could lead to spots being freed up. Scheduling classes around the evening instead of the morning could also lead to more available spots for students to approach this semester.
