Fall for the season’s latest fashion trends
Summer is long gone, fall has officially settled in and if you are a procrastinator like me, that may be a problem when it comes to fashion. Luckily, since we live in Southern California, we do have a bit of a leeway when it comes to fall trends.
Even though the weather is still hot, there are still a couple ways that you can revamp your wardrobe for the fall season. A great place to start is with the season’s colors and patterns.
This season is a great time to embrace neutrals, bold colors and even certain pastels. According to an article from Nordnet, go-to patterns include animal print, geometric shapes, dark jacquard florals and rugged western textures.
Fall is also a great time to begin layering your outfits. Layering adds more dimension and depth to a look and is simple to do. Try pairing a long cardigan, over a blouse and mid-length skirt; or even adding a scarf. Don’t be afraid to mix it up, because the possibilities are endless.
Now that we have down the basics, I’m going to list below my top five fashion pieces that I think you should add to your wardrobe for this fall season.
Leather Jacket
A leather jacket has always been one of my go-to pieces. I think anyone can rock a leather jacket if it’s styled in the right way. I love to pair a leather jacket with leggings, booties and a scarf. You can even pair it with a summer outfit, by adding tights to a skirt and a tank top. There are so many different ways to style a leather jacket that there’s no way you can go wrong with having one in your closet.
Pencil Skirt
There’s nothing better than a good pencil skirt. This piece can be styled up or down depending on what you’re going for. A pencil skirt can be dressed up if paired with a blazer, over a blouse tucked in, a statement necklace and heels. For a more comfy casual look, you can pair it with a chunky sweater and casual flats.
Plaid
Plaid is trending this fall and I’m especially excited about it. I love a plaid flannel, paired with a tank top and jeans. Also, try keeping it buttoned and add a chunky scarf and a beanie to keep warm on colder days.
Ankle Boots and booties
Ankle boots and booties need to be a staple in everyone’s wardrobe this fall. A good pair of boots can be worn with an array of outfits. These outfits can range from a short dress, skirt, leggings or even boyfriend jeans.
Floppy hats
I love floppy hats. I’m specifically a fan of floppy felt hat. A good hat has the ability to pull together an outfit. My favorite way to wear a floppy hat is with a dress, long cardigan, scarf and a pair of booties.
