Saddleback clipped by Cerritos, 26-20
The Saddleback College football team couldn’t come all the way back against Cerritos College on Saturday, losing 26-20. Saddleback falls to 0-1 on the season as a result of the loss.
The Gauchos had the ball on the 2-yard-line with 10 seconds to play, but sophomore quarterback Johnny Stanton threw an interception that put the game away.
Saddleback finished with 406 total yards while only going 4 of 12 on third downs and 1 of 2 on fourth downs.
Stanton and freshman Jacob Gibson threw for a combined 152 yards, but also had three interceptions.
Sophomore Myron Buchanan led the Gauchos in the rushing category, running for 96 yards while also catching a 20-yard touchdown pass.
Saddleback will travel to Riverside City College for their next game.
