Mexico’s “Like Water for Chocolate/Como Agua Para Chocolate” film will be show tomorrow at 7 p.m. in Saddleback College’s BGS 325. The film is in Spanish but will be shown with English subtitles.
“Como Agua Para Chocolate” or “Like Water For Chocolate,” is a Mexican 1992 film that takes place during the Mexican Revolution. The love story reveals the relationship of Pedro and Tita, a couple whose ambitions to get married are stagnant because of the wishes of Tita’s mother. Tita’s mother has other plans for her daughter, plans that involve her oldest daughter getting married first, and having Tita take of her. The film divulges into the nuisances of marriage during their time, and tells the story of forbidden love.
After the movie refreshments and a discussion of the movie will take place.
