Stage manager Nick Hillenbrand, 22, overlooks the rough outline of the forthcoming set for “Lend Me A Tenor”, an upcoming play from the Irvine Valley College theatre department.

Hillenbrand is a first-time stage manager but has worked on many previous IVC productions.

His most recent work at Irvine Valley was as assistant stage manager to Richard Lucas in the production of the classic 1984 musical “Footloose”, directed by Ron Ellison.

“I am excited for the opportunity to be a stage manager,” Hillenbrand said. “While it is different it is a fun kind of different. It is good that it puts me out of my comfort zone and gives me a challenge.”

The IVC theatre department has two plays slated to show this semester. “Lend Me A Tenor”, beginning April 10. The second play is “One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest”, beginning May 6 and running till May 17.
