Sweep turnaround in favor of Saddleback
The Saddleback College women’s volleyball team continued its sweep streak but this time, it was at the winning end of it.
The sweep of Santa Ana College was its second conference victory of the season. The Gauchos took the first game by score of 25-16 and then won 25-20 in their second game and won the match and the third game by a score of 25-20.
Freshman Ashleigh Cottrell had nine kills for the Gauchos and added three blocks. Freshman Sarah Worley added eight kills.
Sophomore Amber Richter had 25 assists along with three aces. Freshman Rachel Talafus had 23 digs.
The victory raises the Gauchos’ record to 4-13 overall and 2-8 in Orange Empire Conference play.
The Gauchos’ will host Riverside tonight at 6 p.m. Saddleback will play at Fullerton College Friday. The match is set to start at 6 p.m.
