Sadddleback Cross Country places in top 10 at So Cal Preview
The Saddleback Cross Country team finished in the top 10 at the So Cal preview on Oct. 3. The race was held in Bakersfield.
The Women’s team finished seventh overall. Ines Flores finished 21st with a time of 19.35 in a field of 260 runners on a five kilometer course. Also in the race Rebecca and Christina Cain finished 49th and 55th. With a team score of 221.
Orange Coast College won the women’s race with 48 points and Santa Ana placed ninth overall.
On the men’s side Bobby Stangl was the best runner for Saddleback, placing thirteenth with a time of 21 minutes flat. The field was out of 345 finisher’s on the four-mile course. Chris McDonald placed 43rd with a time of 21.38. Sophomore Matt Van Dyke finished 58th on a score of 21.55. Saddleback finished with 284 points.
Orange Coast won the Men’s race as well. Riverside came in tenth in the race
