Proposition 8, as of 12:47 a.m., stands at 52 percent voting YES and 48 percent voting NO, according to CNN.
Proposition 8 would amend the California state constitution to say that only a marriage between a man and woman would be recognized as valid in the state. If Proposition 8 passes, it would overrule the May 2008 ruling by the California Supreme Court that legalized same-sex marriage.
