The Piano Recital on Oct. 7, 2012 starred Richard Cionco at Saddleback College’s McKinney Theatre.

Coordinator Dr. Kirill Gliadkovsky set up the event and provided Guest Performer Cionco for the Saddleback students and the community. He hopes to increase his audience for upcoming events.

“Definitely I could say people should show more notice,” said Gliadkovsky. “The community and Saddleback students are the main target.”

Gliadkovsky is the main keyboard person on campus and prepares events to inspire the piano community, which brought Cionco to campus.

Cionco is a well-known international pianist who graduated University of Maryland and The Juilliard School.

Cionco established a calm mood and engaged his audience with his sensitive performance and romantic melodies. The dim lighting of the room and center piano on stage enhanced the mood and produced a romantic setting.

He played for a diverse audience.

It was a “mixture of students, music adverse from the community, music teachers,…anyone with interest,” Gliadkovsky said.

Gliadkovsky has planned over 10 events this year, each with a guest performer and some with two.

Upcoming events are guest pianist on Thursday, Oct. 11 at noon in room FA 101, Dr. Irene Peery-Fox, Piano Master Class on Oct. 27 from 3-5 p.m. in FA 101, Chamber Music Concert with The American Piano Trio on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Mckinney Theatre, and a Christmas Piano Show on Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Mckinney Theatre.
