Men’s water polo came into the season with only one sophomore on the roster, which showed during play despite great team effort from coach Higginson’s young crew.
Three of the Gaucho’s four wins of the season came from three-straight victories against El Camino (13-10), San Diego Mesa (12-9), and Santa Monica (8-6) at the San Diego Mesa Tournament Sept. 21-22.
They came away successful one more time a week later at the Saddleback Invitational against Santa Monica (13-11).
They lost six in a row after that, resulting in their 4-13 (0-5) overall record.
With so many returning players, Saddleback hopes to have better luck next season with a nearly all-sophomore squad.
