IVC golf falls to Palomar

At Wednesday’s conference match at Twin Oaks, Irvine Valley men’s golf team shot second best in a field of four.

The Lasers scored 393, edging out Santiago Canyon by three strokes.

With a score of 362, host Palomar finished first and clinched at least a tie for first place going into the conference finals.

Riverside was at the back of the pack, shooting 426.

IVC, Orange Coast College and Santiago Canyon failed to qualify for team play in the conference finals.

Lasers freshman Drew Exon easily qualified an individual spot in the tournament.

Joining Exon in the conference finals will be Aaron Levine and Adam Ruppert.

On Thursday, Co-captain Dominik Pietschmann shot a final round of 75, but will have to wait for the results of OCC’s final match to see if he qualifies for the conference finals.
