Irvine Valley set to host state tournament

Irvine Valley College will host the California Community College Athletic Association Men’s Volleyball Championship tournament this Thursday and Saturday.
Thursday’s semifinals matches are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. The state final will take place Saturday at 7 p.m.
The defending state champion Lasers (16-2), who are the top seeds for the event, clinched their second-straight Pacific Coast Conference title two weeks ago.
Santa Monica City College, which won the Western State Conference, is seeded No. 2.
