The Irvine Valley College Lasers men’s soccer team tied Golden West last Friday after being down by two goals. The 2-2 tie was a home OEC match up, which also was a disappointing one as their record slipped to 8-8-3 overall on the season and 6-5-1 in conference play. They remain in fourth place.

The Lasers have one match left on their schedule. They host the Riverside Tigers at 3 p.m. Friday.

“The kids worked hard,” IVC coach Martin McGrogan said about the effort on Friday. “I don’t question their work ethic, but that (result) is the way it is been all year for us. It is just frustrating.”

IVC fought back with a goal at the end of the first half. Freshman forward Allen Villa sent a cross into the box from the right as freshman forward Anthony Muniz got the ball and then shot into the left corner of the net. The Lasers struck again in second half as Allen Villa tied up the game.
