Gauchos send Chargers home with no electricity

The women’s water polo team hosted Cypress College last Wednesday in an Orange Empire Conference match. The Gauchos won , 16-5.

Dani Peeler led the Gauchos with eight goals.

Sophomore Kim Chene, freshmen Whitney Werner and Morrae Bullard each had two goals of their own.

The Gauchos pulled ahead with an 8-0 lead at halftime led by Peeler’s five goals.

The Chargers found lightning in a bottle with four goals in the third quarter but the Gauchos laid down the saddle on the Chargers compiling six goals of their own in the fourth and final quarter. The Gauchos won the match 16-5.

The Gauchos improved their record to 2-5 overall with a 1-2 record in Conference play.

While Cypress dropped to 1-9 with a 0-3 record in OEC play.

The Gauchos will host the Fullerton Hornets in an OEC game today at 3 p.m.

The Gauchos will play in the Pasedena Tournament this Friday and Saturday. The event runs all day.
