Free tutoring at Saddleback

Kira Edmondson

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) at Saddleback College offers many different types of free tutoring to help students accelerate in their classes.

Whether a student needs help in English, math, Science or foreign languages the LRC has tutoring options in a variety of subject areas.

Math, science, chemistry and physics have a schedule posted online so that students can find when an appropriate tutor will be available for the students specified class. But that’s not all, students are also welcome to “drop in” to the LRC and see if there is a tutor available for guidance.

There is also free tutoring for math classes 251 and 351. This is located in SM 312 in the student lounge. This tutoring is for 251 and 351 students exclusively. The professor’s of these classes closely collaborate with the tutors, so that students can make the most of their study time within the student lounge. The hours are on a “walk-in” basis Mon. – Thurs. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

English or ESL students can also “drop in” to the LRC Mon. – Thurs. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fri. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students can also make individual appointments at the LRC which run about a half hour long for extra help.

The Language Lab which is located within the LRC building also offers computer games, videos and exercises to help students excel in learning new languages. The language lab’s hours are Mon. – Thurs. 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fri. 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
