Democratic club to host BaROCK the vote for interested students

The Saddleback College Democrats Club will be holding a “BaROCK the Vote” rally Oct. 9 from 12 to 3 p.m. in the SSC quad. The rally will help raise money for the campaign of Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama.

The club intends to produce an entertaining and learning experience for the audience.

“There will be two guest speakers and two musical guests,” club President, Naseam Alavi, 20, political science said.

The performers include Marliese and Speratic, with sound equipment provided by West Moon Studios.

Steven Young, a Democratic congressional candidate and Melahat Rafiei, executive director of the Democratic Party of Orange County, will both be speakers at the event.

Visitors who are not yet registered to vote can do so at the rally, but the main purpose for the event is to educate and enlighten.”[Guests] will learn,” Alavi said. “We want to get people involved.”
