Chancellor is out
South Orange County Community College District Chancellor Raghu Mathur announced that he was leaving the district on Tuesday through a district-wide email following an agreement with the Board of Trustees on Monday.
Mathur’s early departure came after a 5-2 decision, with Tom Fuentes and Dave Lang opposing the motion. Mathur will continue to serve at his position until June 30, 2010.
‘We on the board are fortunate to have been able to work with him in pursuit of the district’s goals,’ said Board President Donald Wagner in a district wide email. ‘We wish Chancellor Mathur all the best in his future professional endeavors.’
Exact details behind Mathur’s early leave are unclear.
‘After a great deal of reflection and discussion with my family, I believe it is the ideal time for me to consider and pursue my next professional challenge,’ Mathur said in an email statement.
