Big band concert in the Mckinney theatre
The Saddleback College Big Band will be performing tonight at 7 p.m. in the McKinney Theatre.
Conducting the performance will be musician Ron Stout. His orchestra consists solely of Saddleback students. They with be performing big band music from the jazz and swing era.
“We have tried to extensively focus on a feature for everyone in the band, so look out for a solo from each person in the band,” Stout said.
They will be playing Big Band Swing music with some new, never heard before material.
The Big Band will be featuring pieces by Bill Holman, Thad Jones and a composition by Spencer Wiles.
They will also be featuring music by Joey Sellers, head of the Jazz Department.
