The Saddleback College Democrats Club is holding a “BaROCK the VOTE” rally Thursday Oct 9 from 12-3pm in Saddleback’s quad to help raise money for Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama’s campaign.

The club intends to produce an entertaining learning experience for the audience.

“There will be two guest speakers and two musical guests,” club President, Naseam Alavi, 20, Political Science, said.

The performers include Marliese (www.myspace.com/Marliesemusic) and Speratic (www.myspace.come/Speractic) with sound equipment provided by West Moon Studios.

Steven Young, a Democratic congressional candidate, and Melahat Rafiei, executive director of the Democratic Party of Orange County will both speak.

Visitors who are not yet registered to vote can do so at the rally but the main purpose for the event is to educate and enlighten.

“[Guests] will learn,” Alavi said. “We want to get people involved.”
