Both men’s and women’s water polo defeated the Santa Ana teams in their last week’s home game.

The women’s team “didn’t have enough players to compete, so we took the forfeit,” Coach Jen Higginson said.

Even though it wasn’t a win in the water, the women were still able to take the win.

The men’s team took the win, but were able to get in the water and score.

The first half of the guy’s game was a battle with good goals from both Santa Ana and Saddleback; however, the second half was more of a stronger game for Saddleback.

With examples of counter attacks and two 5-meter shots, the Gauchos were able to take the win, 15-5.

Kevin Burzynski and Kevin Mitchell led in scoring goals for the team.

This win makes the men’s team 4-2 in their season so far.The women’s team is currently 2-4 in their season with Wednesday’s forfeit by Santa Ana.

The women and men both have home games on Wednesday, September 30 at 3:00 and 4:00 pm, respectively.
