Saddleback men’s water polo hosted their first tournament of the year last weekend.

The Gauchos played their first match against Santa Monica on Friday. Starting with a strong lead, the team continued through out the game to bring the final score to 13-5. Cody Casey had four goals and Paul Scheringer ended the game with five.

Saddleback had its next game Friday afternoon in which they dominated El Camino College 17- 7. Scheringer also contributed to this game immensely with five points.

In the third game of the tournament, on Saturday, Gauchos took another win in their game against Santa Ana. The resulting score was 13-5 with two goals from Max Matsushima and Dennis White.

Saddleback did not have the perfect record they were hoping for after their last game against Palomar. The Gauchos kept the game close with a score of 17-10 but could not swim out with the win.

The tournament brings the Gaucho record to 4-6 and the men play against Santa Ana at their home today at 3 p.m.
