Top teams meet at homecoming

Gauchos will face off against the Grossmont Griffins in the homecoming game this Saturday. The battle of top 20 national teams will display some of the best talent in the country.

The No. 13 Gauchos (4- 1) are led by quarterback Sean Reilly and runningbacks Rodney Woodland and Donnell Dickerson on the offensive side of the ball.

Two weeks ago the offense put it into high gear by scoring 28 points against Cerritos College. On the defensive side of the ball, Saddleback has had five players from the defensive backfield commit to four-year universities this season.

Dominique Vinson, recently committed to Colorado State, leads the pass defense against the Grossmont Griffins. Grossmont, ranked No. 19, bring an undefeated record (5-0) to Saddleback Stadium.

The match up will be crucial in deciding the OEC champion this season. Both teams are coming off a bye week. The coaches have had two weeks to prepare game plans. In a game that could come down to the wire the better coaching staff might be the deciding factor.

Homecoming festivities will start at 4 p.m. and kickoff will follow at 6 p.m. on Saturday night.
