IVC Women’s soccer team receives their fourth loss of the season to Fullerton on Friday, September, 17 in an Orange Empire Conference match.

With a final score of 3-2, the Fullerton Lasers slip away with a win during the last moments of the game.

Irvine Valley College gives the Fullerton Lasers their first win of the season. With the IVC women’s soccer record dropping to an overall average of 2-5-0 and 0-2- 0 after the conference, the team was faced by defeat.

Two ties were made overall during the entirety of the game. The Hornets first tie was determined by a score of 1-1 due to a goal by IVC freshman Kristy Krueger. The second tie was made during the second half of the game with a goal by IVC sophomore Arabia Ruiz off an assist by sophomore Mary Carreon.

Freshman goalie for the Lasers, Denise Lares, completed six saves overall. Also, Goalie Kortney Boris allowed 2 goals against IVC and made 4 saves during 90 minutes of playtime.

The two goals scored by the Hornets during the beginning of the game were made by Stephanie Vincie and Breyana Ajamian as Erica Avalos and Angelica Cervantes delivered the assists. Unbelievably, IVC scored the third goal of the game for Fullerton themselves.

The Irvine Valley Hornets were met by a fatal flaw which eventually cost them a loss for the team late Friday afternoon. “I thought we had chances to win and out-played them for long stretches,” IVC assistant coach Pete McNulty said “We were unlucky to lose.”
