After a week layoff from the hardwood, the Lasers played at Fullerton College last Friday night. Despite playing a powerful in the first half and leading 4-2, the Lasers just didn’t have enough to turn around their loosing streak. They suffered another loss with a final score of 70-51.

Darnell Porter led the Hornets with 17 points, 10 rebounds and four steals in the contest. Lavell McDade assisted with 12 points.

The Hornets shot 47 percent from the floor. While shooting hot from the free- throw line at 82 percent, the Lasers could not touch that percentage with only 30 percent.

Coming back from an injury, Jeff Ledbetter, along with teammate Kwame Alexander, led the Lasers, each scoring 14 points. Fullerton dominated the offensive boards, scoring 14 second-change points to the Lasers seven.

The Lasers remain winless in the Orange Empire Conference with a mark of 0-7 and in last place. They hold a record of 10-16 overall for the season.

IVC will play tonight at Orange Coast College at 5:30 p.m. The Pirates are 2-4 in OEC play and have a record of 9-16 overall.

On Friday, the Lasers take on the challenge as they host OEC’s second-place team from Riverside at 5:30 p.m. in the Hart Gymnasium. The Tigers are 22-5 overall on the year and are 6-1 in conference action.
