Football forced to deal with defeat

Saddleback football lost to Mt. San Antonio College on Oct. 31, 33-31.

The game started with a Saddleback field goal ending the first quarter with the Gauchos ahead with a score of 3-0.

The Mounties came back in the second quarter with a touchdown. Saddleback claimed back the lead and finished the second quarter with a touchdown.

At halftime, Saddleback had the lead with the score of 10-3.

Early into the third quarter, Sean Reilly’s 12-yard pass was caught by Donnell Dickerson.

Michael Frisina took the kick completing the extra point. This brought the Gauchos to a 10-point lead.

Ten minutes later, Mt. Sac got a touchdown. They also ended the quarter with a 40-yard field goal that tied the game.

The fourth quarter started with a touchdown by Mt. Sac but Saddleback soon returned to tie the score. A 59-yard pass was completed by Rodney Woodland with the pass from Reilly.

Four minutes later Mt. Sac scored a touchdown, once again giving them the lead.

With 58 seconds left in the game Sean Reilly passed the ball 25-yards to Tavaurus Abram, giving the Gauchos another touchdown. Abram finished the touchdown while Frisina completed the extra kick.

The Gauchos were hoping to finish the game with a score of 31-27 but the Mounties wanted the game to go a different way.

When Mt. Sac went for a 7-yard pass on the last play of the game, Michael Edwards scored a touchdown.

There was no extra point bringing the final score to 33-31.
